Champlain Memorial Lighthouse
Champlain Memorial Lighthouse is 7.5 mi. n.e. following SR 9N/22, then e. on CR 903 to the New York end of the Lake Champlain Bridge. The original light station was constructed in 1858. A new light and memorial were erected by Vermont and New York in 1912 to honor Samuel de Champlain, who discovered the lake in 1609. Mount Defiance
Mount Defiance is in Ticonderoga Village, 1 mi. off SR 22 via a blacktop road. British cannon mounted at this point forced Gen. Arthur St. Clair to surrender American-held Fort Ticonderoga in 1777. At an elevation of 853 feet, the view from the overlook underscores the strategic importance of Fort Ticonderoga and provides a panorama of the fort, the Lake Champlain valley and the Green Mountains. Natural Stone Bridge and Caves Park
Natural Stone Bridge and Caves Park is 1 mi. n. of I-87 exit 26 on US 9, then 2.5 mi. w. following signs. A well-marked path leads through a series of caves, rock formations and underground waterways. Natural paths cover some uneven terrain. Call (518) 494-2283 for more information.

The DAR John Strong Mansion Museum
The DAR John Strong Mansion Museum is 1 mi. n. of Crown Point Bridge at 6656 SR 17W. Built in 1785, the mansion is a restored, two-story Federal-style brick house—once home to a Revolutionary War patriot and his family—that contains period room displays. Ticonderoga Historical Society Library and Museum
Ticonderoga Historical Society Library and Museum, 6 Moses Cir. at Montcalm St., is in a reproduction of John Hancock's Boston home. Displays include original and reproduction American furniture, Redford glass and historic town memorabilia. Facing the house is the bronze Liberty Monument by Charles Keck.
