Beaver Nature Center
Featuring a 200-acre "wilderness" lake surrounded by extensive forests and meadows, Beaver Lake Nature Center is a place to enjoy and learn about the natural world. The modern Visitor Center, which houses a variety of hands-on exhibits as well as a gift shop, is the hub of Beaver Lake's extensive interpretive programming. Visitors can enjoy such activities as guided nature walks, canoe tours, films, slide programs, natural history courses, and arts and crafts workshops. Eight trails ranging from 1/4 to 3 miles in length wind through the park's natural communities. A resting stop for thousands of Canadian Geese during spring and fall, the Nature Center is open every day of the year from dawn until dusk. Everson Museum of Art
Built in 1968, the Everson Museum of Art is the first museum in the world to be designed by architect I.M. Pei, who has since designed the National Gallery in Washington, the new addition to the Louvre in Paris, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Everson's primary collections are 19th and 20th century American art -- paintings, sculptures, ceramics, prints, and watercolors.
