Iroquois Indian Museum
The Iroquois Indian Museum is an anthropological museum that uses art to educate and inspire. See collections of contemporary Iroquois art and archeological artifacts open a window on Iroquois culture and society. Educational programs fulfill the NYS Learning Standards for the Arts, Social Studies, and Language Arts: depending on which programs are taken, students will engage in artistic creation, learn about the Iroquois relationship to nature, learn to identify archeological artifacts, hear stories, or appreciate the art of the living Iroquois. Many organizations annually choose the Iroquois Museum as a destination for their group fieldtrips. Old Stone Fort Museum
This complex celebrates and preserves the rich, historic legacy of New York's beautiful Schoharie Valley. Buildings include an early 1700's home, 1780's Dutch barn, 1830’s law office and 1890's one-room school as well as the 1772 stone church that was fortified and attacked by British forces in 1780. Secret Caverns
The Caverns are part of the underground drainage system of this area with the cave stream forming nice waterfalls. The stream contains gravel that shows evidence of glacial action. It seems, the cave was formed largely during the last Ice Age about 38.000 years ago. A special highlight is the huge fossils in the younger upper layers of Coeymans Limestone. The crinoids, spiral coral, brachiopods, nautiloids, sea scorpions, and trilobites can be seen in the cave walls during the first descend. Caverns. 8km east of Cobleskill.
